We are pleased to announce that Dr. Longzhou Xu has successfully completed his PhD and received his doctoral degree from Beijing Normal University. During his PhD, Dr. Xu focused on the electrophysiological and structural basis of functional activity in human brain white matter. By combining intracranial stereotactic EEG (sEEG) with multimodal neuroimaging, his work addressed a long-standing question in the field: whether the functional signals and connectivity observed in white matter reflect genuine neural activity. His dissertation and oral defense received highly positive evaluations from the committee, recognizing the quality and significance of his work. We are also grateful to our collaborators at Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University, for their invaluable support in providing the sEEG data essential to this line of research. Congratulations to Dr. Xu on this important achievement. We look forward to his continued contributions in the next stage of his scientific journey.
