Zaixu is a Principal Investigator in Chinese Institute for Brain Research, Beijing. He finished his undergraduate study in computer science at Anhui University from 2007 to 2011. After that, he continued his Ph.D. study with Prof. Gaolang Gong at Beijing Normal University from 2011 to 2017, with specialization in cognitive neuroscience. He conducted research on neuroimaging and the application of machine learning in cognitive neuroscience. He developed a pipeline toolbox for diffusion MRI data processing (named PANDA), which has thousands of downloads so far. After that, Zaixu joined Prof. Ted Satterthwaite’s lab as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Pennsylvania from 2017 to 2021, with collaboration with Prof. Dani Bassett. During this period, Zaixu studied the development of brain structural and functional networks in youth by using machine learning and network control modeling. In 2021, he serves as a principal investigator in Chinese Institute for Brain Research, Beijing and has launched his own lab which is committed to employing and developing computational approaches to understand the organization principles of brain structure and function networks in youth.
